IIM Shillong, the 7th IIM, which commenced its academic session from 2008, with its deeply ingrained belief in the practice of value based management education, engages itself in building corporate leaders and entrepreneurs with strong ethical values rooted in the traditional Indian management system, synchronized with modern management practices. IIM Shillong is nestled in the lap of the serene green hills amidst the abode of Clouds in the state of Meghalaya and provides the perfect ambience for serious academic pursuits of the best global standards.
IIM Shillong is committed to becoming an internationally acclaimed management institute with a global outlook grounded in Indian Ethos and to achieve this vision, we have set our sights on global standards of academic excellence, action-oriented research, value based consultancy, and quality executive education. At IIM Shillong, we are proactive in our approach to the challenges of a constantly changing and dynamic global business environment, and discover ourselves through innovative academic programmers, course curriculum and pedagogical innovations. We have a large alumni network with a number of our students working at senior leadership positions. In order to provide cross-cultural exposure to our students and faculty, IIM Shillong is taking big strides to foster international collaborations with Management Institutes of repute.
We also emphasize on the ever growing significance of sustainable development and business practices and to promote sustainability, IIM Shillong organizes an annual international conference on sustainability (SUSCON), which attracts a large number of researchers and practitioners from across the world. With our mandate for the entire North Eastern region and the state of Meghalaya, IIM Shillong has set up a Centre for Development of North Eastern Region (CeDNER) right since the inception of the institute, under which various activities including training programmers for the youth are organized.
With the support from faculty, staff, students, Board of Governors and all other stakeholders, we are striving to build further on the strong foundations of IIM Shillong and attain greater heights of eminence. Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIM Shillong or IIM-S) is a public, fully autonomous management institute in the city of Shillong, Meghalaya. It was the seventh Indian Institute of Management to be established in India.
IIM Shillong offers postgraduate, doctoral, and executive programmes in management education, and Management Development Programmes (MDPs) spanning different streams of management. Located in the green contours of North Eastern part of the country, IIM Shillong which commenced operations in 2008, remains committed to its goal of excellence in management education and research so as to evolve into a nationally and internationally recognized educational institution. IIM Shillong was ranked 24th among management schools in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2019 and 10th in India by Outlook India's "Top Public MBA Institutions" of 2020.
