Covid-19 Lockdown: The psychological impact of lockdown
This is possibly the first time the Indian workforce has been kept to their homes for more than 50 days now. The rules of lockdown 4.0 have been released recently but it posed little or no impact for our corporate brothers. The professionals are required to work from home until the situation normalizes. The regular going out has stopped, fine dining is a dream and our Instagram is not beautiful anymore.
Several issues have been addressed relating to the pandemic. We all are now aware of economic reforms the government is taking, health issues have been taken to utmost care, problems of migrants, and food everything is looked after. But we are missing something that needs utmost care right now. That something is YOU.
Men are social animals and the lockdown has shown us clearly how this is a bane to ourselves. No physical meeting with our friends or colleagues is leading us to isolation which is affecting our minds. Work from home has been like sugar. It was comforting earlier but now is causing diabetes. There are no topics to discuss. Lives are not fun anymore.
But how do we get over it? We need to realize that depression is not something we can afford at such times. Learn something. Anything. Just keep your systems running. If you keep learning something every day, you will feel better and productive at the end of the day. Not only you will have a topic to talk about but you might rediscover yourself.
Do something you have never done. It could be as small as doing your utensils to even learning artificial intelligence. I assure you these small changes are going to make your life more lively and beautiful.
Believe me, things will get better one day. We all will be able to walk outside and our Instagram stories will be lively again. But right now it is time to learn and come out as the better version then you were before.
